Thought this was interesting, looking at what the different viruses do, you could easily see how this could be done from a corporation's stand point.

Be like oh why it is all of sudden my PC/phone/game console) running so slow, your executables along with the other files are getting bloated and you can't see or know why unless you have a decompiler for each file type. To see if it's legit data or just BS added as a tactic to slow down the hardware.
