Hello All,
A friend of mine needs to have a Ethernet patch cable from his router to his wife's computer. Her wireless just stinks. So will a CAT 6 work with their computers, I told them to get a CAT 5.

So what is the difference between the cat 5 and the cat 6.

Thank you

Usually traditional cat5 is rated up to 100 mbit. Cat5E raises that to gigabit, although most recently manufactured cat 5 can certify to E standards.

Either way should work, cat6 and 5e should be about the same price these days.

I have already told my friend to get a Cat 6 one. And I'm going to buy a cat 6, 6ft one myself.
Thank you all.
